The information we collect

We may collect personal information such as your identification and contact details, transaction and beneficiary information, compliance information required for regulatory and AML purposes, and technical data such as your IP address, device, browser, and cookie information.

03

How we collect information

We collect personal information when you register with us, initiate a money transfer, communicate with us by email or phone, use our website or mobile application, provide documents for verification, or are referred by a partner or third-party service provider. We may also obtain information from publicly available sources, credit reference and fraud prevention agencies, payment partners, and correspondent banks, where permitted by applicable law.

04

Website enquiries

When you use our website enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, enquiry type and message, together with your company and phone number if you choose to provide them. We use this information to respond to your enquiry and communicate with you about it. Your message is sent to our team by email.

To help prevent misuse, the website keeps submission times and a hashed identifier derived from your network address in private server storage. Records older than one hour are removed on the next submission. We do not use this record for marketing or advertising. The enquiry form does not set cookies.

05

How we use your information

We process your personal data to provide and manage our money transfer services, verify your identity and meet anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, communicate with you regarding your transactions and enquiries, and improve the security and quality of our services. We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

06

Our lawful bases for processing

We process your personal data on the following lawful bases: contract, to provide the services you request; legal obligation, to comply with applicable UK laws and regulations; legitimate interests, to prevent fraud, improve our services, and protect our business; and consent, where you have agreed to receive marketing communications. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

07

Sharing and international transfers

We may share your personal data with correspondent banks, payment service providers, regulators, law enforcement authorities, fraud prevention and credit reference agencies, and trusted IT service providers where necessary. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

08

How long we retain information

We retain transaction and identification records for at least five (5) years after the end of our business relationship, as required by applicable AML regulations. We may retain personal data for longer where required by law or for legitimate regulatory purposes.

09

Your data protection rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete (where legally possible), restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to request a portable copy of your information where applicable. You may also withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time. To exercise your rights, please contact us at info@ovado.co.

10

Keeping your information safe

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. These measures include encryption, firewalls, and access controls designed to help keep your information secure.

11
